Fat Representation in Fiction

Will curvy romance and plus size aliens always be a niche, or will fat women ever be as represented in fiction as they are in the population? What are some of the problems that fat representation in fiction face? Are people reading stories about fat women? Do fat readers need to escape into another world where they don't have to be fat? Do fat authors choose to write average size or thin characters because they worry it won't sell, or maybe they need to escape too? How do you find good covers for books with fat main characters?
We will explore as much as we can in an hour!
