Participation with the Library

We know that you want to see your books on a library shelf. Some libraries are more accommodating than others, especially when it comes to self and indie published authors. We've got you! We've been partnering with the Prince George's Community Library System to help make it easier for you to see your work on the library shelf and therefore be available for more potential eyes to see them! See the information below this image of last year's display for details about how to participate for 2023.

If you would like to have one of your books in circulation at the Prince George's Community Library System please read below.
  • The books will be displayed at Hyattsville Library from Monday, September 11th, to Monday, October 16th. The books need to arrive by Wednesday, September 6th. They can start sending them anytime. If your book arrives after September 6th they may not be in the display as quickly as the others are up.
  • After the festival, local authors' books will be added to the local author collection, and the others will go into our main collection.
  • Please send book donations directly to their collections team. You will need to send the book with a note identifying it as donations for the festival, along with information on where you live (if they're local) or if you have any ties to the DMV area (grew up here, went to school here, etc.) to this address:
    • YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE LOCAL to participate - but to go into the local collection you'll need local ties.

SEE YOUR BOOK IN A BOOKSTORE!
Picture
We know that nothing beats the feeling of seeing your book in a bookstore! For the past three years we have partnered with Barnes & Noble to carry at least one copy of each author's books in their store in Bowie. They've been great at supporting the local authors that participate with our festival. This year Curmudgeon Books, an indie book store, has partnered with us as well.

How can you participate in this portion of the book fest?

1 - Go to the form below and put in ONE BOOK you have published that you hope to see in one of the book stores. We don't get to choose which store - the stores will be dividing up the list themselves and ordering at least one copy for the week before the fest for a display.

FILL OUT THIS FORM:56

2 - DEADLINE IS AUGUST 15th. IF YOU DON'T FILL IT IN BY THEN YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE

We cannot guarantee your book will be able to be a part of this - it will all depend on how it is published and if it is published wide and returnable or not. We put forth a sincere effort to help you see your book in a brick and mortar bookstore. That's important to us! But we and the bookstores have no control over the way your book is published. Any eligible book will be in one of the stores.
