She created the "Trope Spin" and "Literary Canon Fodder" book review columns for MediaDiversified.org, and riffs on bookish topics on BlerdyBingeReader.blogspot.com. X Brooks (in which the X honors her enslaved ancestors who were forbidden by law to learn to read and write). Her most recent title is When She's on Top by C. X Brooks, published by BlackOpalBooks.com.
Shai August is a country girl with a big imagination, more than a touch of wanderlust and a never-ending desire to live in both an RV traveling the world and a library. She is fluent in English, sarcasm, and memes. Her goal is to write face-paced, character driven paranormal fiction for women of color.
