Lynn Thorne is an award-winning writer and author of Who Am I If You’re Not You? and Word Of Mouth Advertising Online and Off. She grew up in the Northern Virginia area and currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Lynn started her career as a broadcast journalist. She worked in radio in Richmond at the Virginia News Network before moving to Charlottesville, Virginia, to begin her television career – which eventually encompassed doing everything from weather and reporting to producing and anchoring in Wausau, Wisc., and Richmond, Va.

Lynn ultimately transitioned into doing communications for America’s Promise, the initiative for youth founded by Colin Powell. When she became a mother and was home for eight years with her two sons. she began freelance copywriting, which lead to her writing newspaper and magazine articles, award-winning direct mail pieces, and website copy on behalf of names like Channing Tatum and Rob Lowe.

Lynn is an LGBT ally and blogger on thatswhatlynnsaid.com, which has a primary focus on LGBT issues. Her blog reflects her journey to learn more about the LGBT community and she shares what she’s learned with her readers.
